The Way
Labyrinth

"Show me your ways, 0 Lord; teach me
your paths." (Psalm 25:4)
As part of the renovation of
The Way's new worship space a permanent
labyrinth was painted onto the floor.
It is a
Petite Chartres
design; a round, seven circuit labyrinth inspired by the
classical Chartres Labyrinth in France.
The Labyrinth is an ancient
tool utilized for personal, spiritual transformation. You enter
our labyrinth through the mouth and walk on the path until you
reach the center- now you return the way you came and walk back
out.
As a sacred practice within
the Christian tradition the labyrinth dates back to at least the
4th century and became a common tool by the late 12th century.
The labyrinth is having a renaissance in the 21st century as we
seek to find authenticity in our lives. Christian pilgrims
journey through the labyrinth today for a variety of purposes
including meditation, prayer, centering, clarity, discernment,
listening for God, health and wellness, and so much more.
A discipline of labyrinth
walking can be an ongoing spiritual formation for Christians
seeking an authentic life of balanced wholeness in which
intimate relationship with God is sought and valued.
The Way hosts a labyrinth
walk the first Sunday of every month from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.
While
you may use your time on the labyrinth for any prayer needs or
concerns, each month will have a different focus.
Communion will be available. There will also be a designated
meditation area for journaling and processing your labyrinth
experience after you have completed the walk.
