The Mikvah
Experience - Dates TBA
Again this year The Way
will sponsor the Mikvah Experience for the larger Northway
community. “What is a mikvah?” you may be wondering. A mikvah
is a ritual bath for cleansing common among women in the Jewish
community. While it has been a part of the Jewish faith for
millennia, the mikvah experience has recently been expanded to
include rituals of healing and renewal—for people going through
divorce, for couples unable to conceive, for survivors of abuse,
for men and women searching for new direction in their lives.
This is the power of ritual: to take a simple action, such as
bathing in warm water, and turn it into a sacred act.
Our mikvah experience will be scheduled soon. The sanctuary and baptistry will be
available for personal meditation in one-hour time periods. You
may sign up through Jennie Churchman by calling the church
office or emailing
jennie@northwaychristian.org. Those who participated last
year found it to be a healing, transforming experience and a
wonderful way to begin the new year...more
Daily Bible Reading Discussion
Group
If you have ever wanted to read the entire bible here is an
excellent chance to make that happen. We are forming an
accountability group that will have online discussions regarding
our progress and addressing questions. Go to
http://www.thewayncc.org/forum and
sign in and request a membership to the discussion group. All
are welcome, even if you only want to participate sporadically
or choose to follow a different reading plan or daily
devotional. The point as to develop a daily habit. Some of us
will be following the Daily Walk Bible - Tyndale Publishing.
It can be a life changing experience. |
